Kigali, Rwanda – June 2026 — Asopo Technologies today announced a strategic partnership with the Rwanda Safari Guides Association (RSGA) to develop and launch a dedicated digital financial services platform for safari guides across Rwanda, providing members with new tools to save, transact, and access financial services through a tailored digital experience.
The partnership marks an important step in RSGA’s mission to strengthen the professional and economic wellbeing of its members by introducing modern financial infrastructure designed specifically for the unique needs of Rwanda’s safari guide community.
Built on Asopo’s proven Pulse platform, the initiative will create a dedicated member ecosystem that enables safari guides to manage structured savings plans, access digital financial services, and interact with the association through a secure and intuitive mobile experience.
The platform will be delivered through a phased roadmap that progressively expands the services available to members. Initial functionality will provide all RSGA members with access to a dedicated customer application where they can manage their accounts, enrol in savings plans, maintain member information, and engage directly with the association through a branded digital experience.
Future phases of development will introduce integrated payment capabilities, allowing members to contribute to savings plans through Mobile Money services including MTN and Airtel, as well as traditional banking channels through planned integration with Bank of Kigali. The platform will also support USSD-based payment journeys, ensuring accessibility for members regardless of device type or connectivity constraints.
As the platform evolves, members will gain access to official digital savings accounts with structured savings contracts, interest-earning functionality, deposit and withdrawal capabilities, and digital membership identification features. Additional phases will introduce lending functionality, enabling RSGA to offer financial products to its members through a fully digital and transparent operating environment.
The initiative reflects a shared vision between RSGA and Asopo to leverage technology as a catalyst for financial inclusion, enabling safari guides to build savings, improve financial resilience, and access new opportunities for economic growth.
“Rwanda’s safari guides are among the country’s most important tourism ambassadors, playing a critical role in shaping the experiences of visitors from around the world,” said Eric MANZI, Chairman of the Rwanda Safari Guides Association.
“As an association, we are committed to continuously creating value for our members. This partnership with Asopo enables us to introduce modern financial services that help our members save for the future, manage their finances more effectively, and ultimately gain access to new financial opportunities. We believe this initiative will have a meaningful and lasting impact on the livelihoods of safari guides across Rwanda.”
The partnership builds on Asopo’s extensive experience delivering technology solutions across Africa. Originally developed to support large-scale customer financing and payment operations, the underlying platform has evolved over more than a decade to become a robust digital infrastructure layer capable of supporting payments, financial services, customer management, and operational workflows at scale.
Today, the platform has processed more than 100 million mobile money transactions, managed over one million financed products, supported thousands of field agents, and maintained 99.9% uptime across multiple African markets. In Rwanda alone, the technology has already supported more than 250,000 customers, providing a proven foundation for the next stage of RSGA’s digital transformation journey.
“We are delighted to partner with the Rwanda Safari Guides Association and support their vision of delivering greater value to their members through technology,” said Christopher Baker-Brian, Managing Director of Asopo Technologies.
“What stood out immediately was RSGA’s commitment to creating meaningful services that directly improve the financial wellbeing of its members. This partnership demonstrates how organisations can rapidly launch sophisticated financial services using proven digital infrastructure rather than building complex systems from scratch. We are excited to support RSGA as they create a new digital experience for safari guides across Rwanda.”
Christopher Baker-Brian added:
“This partnership is a great example of the flexibility and scalability of the Asopo platform. We are starting with a tailored savings solution, but the roadmap extends much further. By combining digital savings, Mobile Money payments, banking integrations, membership services, and future lending capabilities within a single ecosystem, we are creating a foundation that can continue evolving alongside the needs of RSGA and its members for years to come.”
The first phase of the platform is expected to be launched during 2026, with additional capabilities being rolled out through a structured multi-phase development programme.
